He has performed, recorded with and worked alongside prominent artists including Elvis Costello, Hozier, Sting, Sinéad O'Connor, The Chieftains, and Moving Hearts. His song "If all she has is you" was produced by Vince Clarke [Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yazoo] and appears on the debut album of Electric Youth.
John has appeared on two Grammy winning albums. "Riverdance - The Show" and "The Long Journey Home" [The Chieftains]. His performance of "Fionnghuala" on "The Chieftains - A tribute to Derek Bell" earned him another Grammy nomination as featured artist.
Born in Dublin (and twin brother of composer Michael McGlynn), he originally trained as an architect before establishing a diverse career in music, production and performance. He is a longtime member and co-director of Anúna, and was an original male lead singer for Riverdance in New York, London, and Dublin. He has also directed Anúna Corporate for over 25 years.
